At Byway Equestrian Construction LLC, we design and build exceptional equestrian facilities and high-quality site development projects with a focus on precision, performance, and long-term durability. Owned and operated by Mike Sinkbeil and Austin Brengel, our company brings a rare combination of equestrian insight and construction expertise to every project.

Both Mike and Austin were raised on farms in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, where their days were split between caring for horses and operating heavy equipment. This dual foundation shaped their approach early on—understanding not only how to build, but how those builds directly impact horse and rider.

“We both grew up on farms—one day feeding and grooming horses, the next operating heavy equipment,” says Mike.

Mike went on to own and operate a successful hunter/jumper farm for many years, while Austin developed extensive experience in excavation, equipment operation, and site design from a young age. Today, Austin is recognized for his precision and ability to execute complex site and construction projects, while Mike brings deep equestrian knowledge and a practical understanding of facility functionality.

Together, they have built a company that goes beyond traditional excavation. With firsthand experience across multiple disciplines—including hunter/jumpers, dressage, and eventing—they approach every project with an equestrian’s perspective and a builder’s discipline.

We specialize in custom horse arena design and construction, managing every phase from initial site work and engineering through the installation of premium footing systems. Through long-standing partnerships with leading fiber and sand suppliers, we deliver arenas that meet the highest standards of safety, consistency, and ride quality.

In addition to arena construction, we offer comprehensive site development services, including septic systems, general excavation, full site work, dry lots, layup paddocks, water systems, and fully customized solutions tailored to each property.
